Trevor and Melvin’s love story began over a decade ago, culminating in their engagement on their 10th anniversary. Beginning the Surrogacy Journey
The couple began their surrogacy process soon after tying the knot, but the journey was anything but straightforward. Trevor explained, “We thought once we had the funds, everything would just be step A, B, C. It wasn’t like that at all.”

This included creating embryos, which involved two IVF cycles since their first attempt didn’t yield enough viable embryos.
The pandemic further complicated timelines, but the couple persevered. They described the emotional challenge of selecting an egg donor. “It’s such a big decision—this person would be part of our child’s DNA,” Trevor said. “After going through thousands of profiles, it became overwhelming.”

“We initially thought we could time it so both children would be born around the same time,” Melvin said with a laugh. “Now, we’ve realized it’s about letting things fall into place.”
Reflecting on their journey, the couple shared advice for other intended parents: “You’re never truly ready for parenthood, but if it’s in your heart, it’s worth moving forward. The process will humble you, but it’s also so rewarding.”
